What is #GivingTuesday?

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. #YearEndGiving

If you could help only one person this year, who would you choose? What if you didn't have to choose? When you combine the power of your gift with the gifts of others, thousands of local people are helped, and the entire community is strengthened. We're in the game. Are you? Join the #gamechangers and make your gift today!

YOUR UNITED WAY

There are so many ways to give back on #GivingTuesday. From helping a neighbor to donating blood to advocating for a cause with United Way of Charlotte County (UWCC). Start thinking now, about how you're planning to give back on November 27. Let’s get together, make arrangements, then set yourself a calendar reminder to give BIG for #GivingTuesday.

Give Time Volunteer. People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some, it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them.

Give Money Click Here to Donate. Connect with United Way of Charlotte County on a cause that matters to you.

Start a fundraiser for UWCC. Never hosted a fundraiser before? It’s as easy as telling a story about why this cause is important to you.

Payroll giving is a great way to give regular support to the causes you care about. Donate a part of your paycheck to UWCC or talk to your employer about how your organization can make giving back part of its official policy.

Give Your Talent Use your skills to help us.  Reach out to UWCC to see how you can use your talents to good.

Give Your Voice Mobilize your neighbors to look for solutions to your local community issues such as homelessness, hold a substance exposed newborn, become a mentor, or paint a neighbors home. Contact UWCC for more details.

Shop for Good Raise money for UWCC when you shop online using platforms like AmazonSmile. Give holiday gifts that make an impact this holiday season by shopping for gifts that give back! United Way will hand-write and personally send cards to those that you want to honor with a donation in their name.

Help a Neighbor Hold a door open, give up your seat on the train or just smile for someone you don’t know.

Teach your kids to give back. Get your children involved by talking to them about the importance of giving. Everything from giving unwanted toys to smiling at someone on the street can make a difference in someone’s life.
