Thinking of Our Exceptional VITA Volunteers!

Every volunteer is of value to our organization and plays an important role in our mission to break the cycle of poverty in Charlotte County. Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program volunteers are EXCEPTIONAL. Our VITA Program Lead Steve Vito always reminds us that the VITA program in Charlotte County is powered by grace, but in this very unique tax season it is also powered by flexibility.

We do not know for certain when or if it will be deemed appropriate to begin VITA operations again, but we are humbled knowing that many of you are willing to pick back up where we left off if that becomes a possibility.

Even in this set-back, let us not forget how much work has already been accomplished this tax season!

Before the program was suspended, our VITA Team had 419 Federal tax returns accepted and a total of $511,017 in tax refunds put back into the wallets of Charlotte County residents. We were well on our way to breaking records and are now keeping our fingers crossed that we will be able to serve our clients again very soon. Your work has made a tremendous impact in our community.

The team at the United Way of Charlotte County thanks you for your hard work, your grace, and your flexibility!
