Here’s how it works:

Invite a few friends or family over and enjoy a FUN evening, virtually with United Way of Charlotte County.  You will learn about the wines from Kenneth L. Johnson Jr., Local Wine Enthusiast, enjoy foods paired especially for the wine by Chef Jason Osborne with Charlotte Technical College. Hosted by Marie LaBrosse on our United Way of Charlotte County YouTube Channel and UWCC Facebook page. Thank you to our sponsors: Charlotte Technical College and Atlantic Wine and Spirits of Florida. Things To Know:

  • Pick up your packages from 3-5PM on November 19 at the Charlotte Technical College 18150 Murdock Circle, Port Charlotte. Enter the backside of the school from Murdock Circle and pull up to the roundabout.  This will be a contact-less drive thru.  State your name and you will be on your way.
  • Packages must be pre-paid in advance.
  • Sorry, no substitutions, changes or requests.
  • If you paid the extra delivery charge, then please make sure that we have your correct delivery address and phone number.  It can be delivered to your home, or place of business as long as it is in Charlotte County. 
  • You must have proof of ID that you are over 21 years of age.

Chef Jason Osborne, has been head instructor at Charlotte Technical College culinary program since 2006.  He completed the program himself as an adult, graduating from Culinary Institute of America, and working in the industry before returning as a teacher. He has utilized his skill, education and work experience to better several restaurants and employees in Georgia, Florida and New York to improve the customer’s experience. He created this amazing menu specifically for Beaujolais 2020.  Chef Osborne stated, “It’s going to be a challenging menu for us but it will be exciting."

      

 

 

 

Kenneth (Ken) L. Johnson Jr. and his wife, Betty will be married for 51 years in December.  They have two grown sons and four grandchildren. 

In 2013 he started a wine tasting called Popping the Cork on Cancer and he is a three time Skin Cancer Survivor.  This year would have been the 8th year for the event but was postponed until March 2021.  The money raised during the event is donated to 21st Century Oncology CARE foundation to help local cancer patients with their treatments.

Ken has been working for Publix the past five years and truly loves the interactions with customers and fellow employees.

His favorite wine is an un-oaked Chardonnay or a good Malbec from Argentina. He enjoys a a glass of Chardonnay with a nice seafood dish and a smooth glass of Malbec with a nice grilled steak.
