Community Foundations and United Way Partner for Disaster Response
The Charlotte Community Foundation (CCF), the United Way of Charlotte County (UWCC) and Southwest Florida Community Foundation have joined together in partnership in order to respond to the significant devastation left in Hurricane Irma’s wake.
“As always, the local needs of Charlotte County residents are our priority.” Said Tami Sender, CEO of the Charlotte Community Foundation. “To that end, we are partnering with the United Way to assure that funds are available for relief and recovery efforts while avoiding duplication and ensuring that donated funds will provide the greatest impact for our community.”
“This collaboration will enhance our community’s ability to quickly respond to this disaster,” stated Carrie Blackwell Hussey, Executive Director of the United Way of Charlotte County. “Donors can give to the Foundation or the United Way and know that the funds will be distributed to those with the greatest needs in the most critical areas. Working together we will better serve the entire county.”
Tax-Deductible donations can be made by visiting charlottecf.org, unitedwayccfl.org, https://floridacommunity.com or by texting Irma to 40403. 100% of funds will be used for direct expenses related to Hurricane Irma relief and recovery efforts. Please email if you have additional questions.
