We have a busy, growing United Way office and we could use your help!

Did you know that volunteering is good for your health and helps you live longer?

According to an article in Harvard Health Publications, "Volunteering may be good for body and mind".

If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to speak with you. Our office hours are 8:30 to 4:30 Monday through Friday. The type of assistance needed includes light clerical work, answering phones, some filing and data entry.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is scheduling appointments now!

Through April 12, volunteers in partnership with United Way of Charlotte County (UWCC) and SunTrust Bank will assist local residents who earned less than $66,000 in 2017 with income tax return preparation. An exciting development for tax year 2017 is the expansion from two to three tax preparation sites.  This year preparers will be available in Englewood, Port Charlotte and in Punta Gorda.

A one-day local event highlighting the research behind the health benefits of staying social and connected. Resources and information will be available from local nonprofits and businesses. Join us from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on February 22, 2018. Lunch sponsored by Life Care Center of Punta Gorda. Cost to attend is $10.
